White fillings

Home - Drummoyne Dentist - General and Emergency Dentist

White filling materials allow us to create highly aesthetic restorations. There are actually different types of white fillings. There is composite resin, glass ionomer cement and resin modified glass ionomer cement. Resin composite is the strongest and most aesthetic of all the white fillings however there are disadvantages. It does not stick as well to the tooth as glass ionomer and does not release fluoride. Glass ionomer cement is preferred if the patient is at high risk of developing tooth decay because the release of fluoride may prevent further tooth decay. At Drummoyne Smiles, we choose the material that is most suitable for you and we are able to create highly natural looking fillings or veneers.
