Crowns are usually made when a tooth is weakened in some way. This may be because the tooth may have had a large amount of decay, the tooth has been broken or the tooth has been root canal treated. The procedure for making a crown is as follows: we create space for the crown by shaving your tooth; we then take a mould of your tooth and send this mould to the laboratory. Usually, the fabricated crown will be returned within 1-2 weeks. During the second visit we permanently cement the crown.
